Abstract

Demanded by the current situation of nutritional issues in the community in Vietnam, the National Institute of Nutrition has been invested by the Ministry of Science and Technology to research and develop a smart nutrition consulting system for the community and patient groups (VNSNutrition). The research was implemented from September 2020 to September 2024. The developing and operating the system shows the importance of the professional staff, the quality of the database and the knowledge base provided for the system. The coordination between the professional staff and IT staff is another important factor that determines the success and effective operation of the system. Internet infrastructure, user devices, the general mechanism of the software application unit, the understanding and IT skills of end users are the challenges that need to be seriously considered and overcome in building and operating a personalized smart nutrition consulting software. When difficulties are overcome and strengths are researched and promoted, the application of information technology achievements in disease prevention and monitoring, managing people's health and nutritional status will maximize the efficiency.
