NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF PATIENTS WITH TYPE II DIABETES AT THE HOSPITAL OF HANOI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY IN 2020

Abstract

A cross-sectional study was to describe nutritional status of 97 patients with type II diabetes mellitus being hospitalized at the Endocrinology-Respiratory Unit, Hanoi Medical University Hospital in 2020. Results showed that average body mass index
(BMI) was 22.8±2.8; of which the subjects with BMI within the normal range was accounted for the highest rate of 72.2%, followed by overweight of 22.7%. Average waist circumference was 85.6±11.4 cm, abdominal fat rate was 66.0%. The rate of HbA1C from 7% and more, fasting glucose greater than 7.2 mmol/l; LDLc from 2.6 mmol/l and more; HDLc greater than 1 mmol/l; triglycerides of 1.7 mmol/l and more and total cholesterol less than 5.2 mmol/l was 84.5%; 83.5%; 61.9%; 60.8%; 84.5% and 53.6%, respectively.
