STATE OF THE DYSLIPIDEMIA IN ELDERLY IN RURAL THAI BINH PROVINCE

Abstract

A descriptive epidemiological study was conducted between May and December 2016
with a sample size of 1186 people. The objective of the study was to determine the rate
of dyslipidemia in people aged 60-74 years in 4 rural communes in Thai Binh province.
We obtained the following results: The prevalence of lipid disorders in humans aged
60-74 years was 65,9%; Rate of dyslipidemia in different age groups; Age group 70-74
had the highest rate of dyslipidemia (86,1%) followed by age group (65-69 years), the
lowest age group was 60-64 (52,1%). The prevalence of dyslipidemia in older women (69,0%) was higher than that of men (61,2%); Cholesterol increase was 37,0%,
Triglyceride increased by 33.9%, LDL-C increased by 26,1%, and HDL-C decreased
by 13,6%. 4 indicators accounted for 0,7%, 3 indicators were 7,7%, 2 indicators were
27,1% and 1 indexes were 30,3%.
Conclusion: The prevalence of lipid disorders in people aged 60-74 years was 65,9%;
The rate of dyslipidemia in women (69,0%) was higher than that of male (61,2%).
