Main Article Content
Abstract
A prospective study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition counseling
and dietary management to stabilize blood glucose of 160 gestational diabetes
mellitus (GDM) patients after 2 weeks. The result showed that the efficiency of nutrition
counseling after 2 weeks reached 80%. The recommended diet had the P:L:G ratio
of 20%:35%:45% (Energy= 1957.3 ± 205.8 Kcal, Protein = 98.5 ± 13.6g, Lipid = 75.5
± 11.2g, Glucid = 222.6 ± 25.4g). There was a relationship between the outcome of
glycemic control and the nutritionally consulted diet. For every 1g reduction in sugar
in the diet, the likelihood of a blood sugar reaching the target increased by 3%.
