ĐẶC ĐIỂM NHÂN TRẮC VÀ TÌNH TRẠNG DINH DƯỠNG CỦA HỌC SINH HAI TRƯỜNG MẦM NON TỈNH NINH BÌNH NĂM 2022

Abstract

Aims: To assess anthropometric and nutritional status of children in two preschools in Ninh Binh province.

Methods: A cross-sectional study in 1200 children 2-5 years in preschools was carried out. Each child was measured anthropometric indices to assess nutritional status. Nutritional status of children 2-5 years was evaluated by three indicators: weight for age (W/A), height for age (H/A), and BMI for age (BMI/A) classified by WHO standards 2006 and 2007.

Results: The average BMI for age Z-score of boys was 0.2 ± 1.2 SD, significantly higher than the average BMI for age Z-score of girls was 0.04 ± 1.04 SD (p<0.05). The rate of stunting in the group of children (<5 years) was 6,6%, this rate in the group of children (≥5 years) was 1,5%, the difference between the 2 age groups was statistically significant (p<0.05). The rate overweight/obesity of children (<5 years) was only 2,9%, while this rate of (≥5 years) was 5%.

Conclusion: The rates of underweight (4.5%), stunting (8.1%) and wasting (1.1%) of children participating in the study were much lower than the national average as well as the average of Ninh Binh province.
