Abstract

The study aimed to describe nutrition care activities for patients with uterine fibroid
surgery in Thai Binh Obstetrics Hospital in 2019.
Subjects: patients with uterine fibroids.
Method: Descriptive study through a cross-sectional survey. Results: 100% doctors and
nurses were not trained in nutrition care; 84.7% of health workers understood the steps of
nutrition care process for patients, but only 68.5% regularly performed health check and
nutrition assessment of patients; 100% of health workers were not involved in nutrition
counseling or nutrition interventions for patients; 100% of the patients did not order
foods at the nutrition department but made their own menus and from unknown sources;
100% of health workers knew the importance of nutrition care and had training needs.
Conclusion: The percentage of heath staffs being trained on nutrition care was too low,
however, the majority them had training needs on this issue.
