NUTRITION STATUS OF CHILDREN 6-36 MONTHS PHU HOA WARD IN THU DAU MOT CITY, BINH DUONG PROVINCE

Abstract
The aim of the study was to investigate the nutrition status of children 6-36 months in
Phu Hoa ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province. A cross sectional study was implemented on 573 healthy children aged 6-36 months, recruited from Phu Hoa ward of Thu Dau Mot city. For the assessment of nutrition status, all children were measured weight and length/height. Study results showed that underweight prevalence was 7.9%, stunting prevalence was 12.9%, wasting prevalence was 3.5% and overweight & obesity prevalence was 14.3%, including 3.8% of obesity. Conclusion: Prevalence of overweight & obesity of 6-36 months children of Phu Hoa ward, Thu Dau Mot city was higher than Binh Duong province or Ho Chi Minh City.
