Abstract

A 7-day non-controlled clinical intervention study was conducted with direct nutrition
counseling for 76 male patients diagnosed with Gout according to ACR/EULAR 2015,
inpatient treatment at the Department of Geriatrics, Hai Duong General Hospital. After
7 days of longitudinal follow-up, a cross-sectional investigation and re-evaluation were
made to compare before and after intervention. The results showed that after the intervention,
100% of patients knew it was necessary to treat the disease, and knowing that they
needed to combine drug treatment, diet and exercise increased from 75.0% before the
intervention to 100% after the intervention. The proportion of patients who changed their
eating habits (reducing red meat, animal fat, limiting seafood, increasing exercise, and
increasing drug adherence) after the intervention was higher than before the intervention
with p<0.05.
