DEMAND FOOD PROVIDING FOR PATIENTS IN HANOI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL IN 2016-2017

Abstract

Nutritional treatment is an indispensable therapy for integrated treatments for patients.
Therefore, a cross-sectional descriptive study carried out on 130 Inpatients at Hanoi Medical University Hospital aimed at assessing the need to provide meals for patients and describing the Patients’ knowledge, attitudes and practices on pathological meals. The result
showed that 53.8% of patients used meals in hospital, 80% of patients had good knowledge
about pathological diet. Half (50.0%) of patients always finished the meals and up to
81.4% of patients wanted to continue eating the pathological meals. Conclusions: The proportion of patients who had knowledge about the pathological diet and would like to use
a pathological diet is quite high while the proportion of patients currently using pathological diets was quite low. It is, then, necessary to expand the supply of pathological diet to
the entire hospital.
