Abstract

An investigation was made to explore the actual use of Benzoic acid additives in foods
in Nam Dinh city. We have identified 27/75 food samples containing benzoic acid, accounting for 36%. The highest is found in chili samples, which was 77.77%. Our research
has helped the managers have more access to information on the abuse of Benzoic acid
additive in processing and trading food in order to prolong the reservation time of spoiled
or expired food that may lead to unpredictable consequences.
