Abstract

Objectives: To assess the percentage of pregnant and lactating women who were communicated on reproductive health care and the percentage of pregnant women receiving
antenatal care and some reproductive health care practices. Study subjects : 304 pregnant
women over 7 months and women nursing young children <6 months of age in Muong
Cha and Tuan Giao of Dien Bien province. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study.
Results: The percentage of women receiving antenatal care at least 3 times during pregnancy was low (29.3%) and still there were 20.7% not attending antenatal care. The impact
of antenatal reproductive health communication on tetanus vaccination, iron supplementation for anemia and childbirth in health facilities was significantly higher than that of
women who did not access to communication.
