ACTUAL FOOD INTAKE OF MALE STUDENTS IN MILITARY MEDICINE COLLEGE No1 IN 2018

Abstract
Objectives: to assess the status of energy consumption, composition and structure of
macronutrients and micronutrients in the diets of male students in Military Medicine College No1 in 2018, thereby providing recommendations to improve meal quality for students.
Methods: Cross-sectional study, over 168 male students in Military Medicine College No1
in 2018 were surveyed on nutritional behavior and food intake. Data were analyzed by
medical statistical methods. Result: The average energy intake of male students was 2141.2
± 187.0 Kcal / day, of which protein took 14.5 ± 4.8%, lipid accounted for 32.0 ± 4.3%,
carbohydrates accounted for 51.7 ± 7.1%. The percentage of students meeting dietary energy requirement was 37.5%. The percentage of students who achieved the dietary protein
ratio was 59.5%, carbohydrate was 11.9% and only 1.2% of students achieved lipid ratio
in the diet. Regarding the content of some minerals and vitamins in student diets: Calcium:
494.0 ± 300.2 mg; phosphorus: 1016.7 ± 505.1 mg; iron: 18.5 ± 11.5 mg; vitamin C: 105.0
± 66.0 mg; Vitamin B1: 1.9 ± 1.2 mg; Vitamin B2: 1.0 ± 0.6 mg.
