NUTRITION STATUS OF HEART FAILURE PATIENTS AT HANOI HEART HOSPITAL IN 2018

Abstract
A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 153 heart failure patients treated
in Hanoi heart hospital in 2018 to describe the patient's nutritional status. Results: The
prevalence of chronic energy deficiency of heart failure patients being treated in Hanoi
heart hospital is quite high at 25.5% and the rate of overweight and obesity is 10.5%. According to the subjective global assessment of nutritional status method - SGA, the rate
of malnutrition from moderate to severe is 39,2%. The rate of malnourished males is
23.5% and malnutrition is 15.5%. There was a statistically significant relationship between
nutritional status according to BMI and SGA. The proportion of patients with large waist
/ hips ratio is 77,8% which men are 34,0% and women are 43.8%.
