NUTRITIONAL STATUS, CLINICAL AND SUB-CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF TYPE 2 DIEBETIC PATIENTS TREATED IN HUE CENTRAL HOSPITAL

Abstract
A cross-sectional study was conducted from September 2018 to March 2019. 126 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes during the first day of treatment at Hue Central Hospital were recruited. Research objectives: to describe nutritional status and clinical and
subclinical characteristics of patients with type 2 diabetes. The results showed that the
rate of malnutrition in the patients was very high, of which 16.7% had energy deficiency,
36.5% were overweight and obese, 32.5% were anemic and 38.6% had low serum albumin
concentration. The proportion of patients with uncontrolled fasting blood glucose was
97.6%. 58.7% had another disease, of which 27.7% had hypertension, 66.7% had osteoarthritis, 53.9% had limb numbness and 33.3% blurred 1-2 eyes. The incidence of dyslipidemia was very high, including an increase in cholesterol rate of 27.8% and an increase
in triglyceride of 38.1%.
