NUTRITIONAL STATUS ASSESSMENT BY ANTHROPOMETRIC METHOD BEFORE ADMISSION AMONG PATIENTS WITH PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS IN NATIONAL LUNG HOSPITAL IN 2019-2020

Abstract

A cross-sectional study of 221 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at the Respiratory Tuberculosis Department, National Lung Hospital in 2019-2020 was conducted to describe nutritional status of the patient before admission. The results showed that according to the body mass index (BMI), 45.8% of the patients were undernourished; 44.2% were normal; and 10.0% were overweight-obese. According to the evaluation by mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), 60.2% of the patients were malnourished and 39.8% were normal.
