EATING HABITS OF PEOPLE WITH LIVER CANCER BEING TREATED AT THE CANCER CENTER AT BAI CHAY HOSPITAL, QUANG NINH PROVINCE IN 2019

Abstract

The study aimed to describe the eating habits of patients with liver cancer being
treated at the Cancer Center of Bai Chay Hospital, Quang Ninh Province in 2019.
Methods: Epidemiological descriptive methods through a cross-sectional survey was
used.
Results: Food choice and food diversity were not good: Marine fish was the food
group that was rarely used by the subjects, accounting for 5.9%. The rate of frequent
consumption of eggs was accounted for 11.7%; 100% of patients in the study ate fruits
and vegetables. Fruit intake per day of the patient was 189.9 ± 96.3 grams. Green vegetables consumed per day of the patients was 168.2 ± 75.3 grams; still 48.8% consumed
more than 150ml of wine and over 30ml of spirit daily, and 14.3% consumed more than
360ml of beer daily in men.
Conclusion: The eating habits of patients had not been
good, the use of alcohol was quite common.
